Fun at SMA
SMA folk hosted a number of fun-filled activities during the academic year.
On December 6, 2000, the SMA Holiday Party was held at the Waterfront Activities Center. It is a holiday traditional event for staff, faculty, students, friends, and family to enjoy food, fun, games and gift exchanges.
Holiday Latte Cart, December 2000: Complimentary lattes and refreshments were sponsored by Dean Arthur Nowell to spread holiday cheer throughout the College.
COFS COFFSS (College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences Congregation of Faculty, Friends, Staff and Students) is an informal social gathering held every other Friday during the academic year. It is hosted by SMA students and held in the second floor lounge of the Marine Studies Building. All students, staff, and faculty of the College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences are invited to "unwind."
Our prestigious Emeritus Professor Warren Wooster celebrated his 80th birthday on February 17, 2001 with a wonderful dinner/roast at the China Harbor Restaurant on Lake Union. The dinner was arranged by Professor Ken Chew. It was fun to see so many faculty, colleagues, staff, students and friends there to honor Professor Wooster and all his contributions to the marine field.
