Events & Programs

SMA offers various career workshops and events throughout the year. This year, SMA and the Marine Affairs Alumni Club (MAAC) hosted the SMA Schmooze Night during spring quarter. Nearly 60 students, alumni, faculty and staff came together one evening to chat, network, trade career tips and nosh on tasty appetizers.

2003 also featured the second year of the Alumni Mentor Program. The program provides an opportunity for students and alumni to have an honest dialogue about career goals and expectations, internships and jobs, and the benefits and challenges of marine affairs professions. Students have commented that the mentor program provides them with an avenue to inside information that is difficult to find anywhere else. For more information about the career services offered at SMA, check out our Career Services web page.
